About Synapse Cura
A new standard for mental healthcare.
We believe better mental health outcomes begin with a more connected, collaborative and patient-centred approach to care.
Mental healthcare is complex. It unfolds over time, across different professionals, treatment approaches, institutions and stages of life. Yet the systems supporting it often remain fragmented, leaving patients and professionals to navigate disconnected information, limited visibility and gaps in continuity.
We believe it can be different.
Synapse Cura is building a digital ecosystem designed to bring together the people, information and tools that contribute to better mental healthcare.
Our purpose is simple: to improve patient outcomes.
Our vision
A future where mental healthcare works together.
We envision a future in which mental healthcare is continuous rather than episodic, collaborative rather than fragmented, and informed by a more complete understanding of each patient's journey.
A future where patients participate actively in their care, supported by access to their own information and meaningful control over how it is shared.
Where therapists can understand relevant experiences and progress between sessions.
Where doctors and other clinicians can make more informed decisions using longitudinal treatment context.
Where healthcare organisations can coordinate services around the needs of the individual.
Where employers and benefit providers can support access to meaningful mental healthcare without compromising employee privacy.
And where responsibly governed research can contribute to a deeper understanding of treatments, patient experiences and outcomes.
Our ambition is to help establish a new European standard for connected, patient-centred mental healthcare.
Our approach
One patient. A connected ecosystem.
We believe meaningful improvements in mental healthcare require more than individual digital tools.
They require an approach that recognises the relationships between patients, healthcare professionals, institutions and the wider systems supporting care.
Synapse Cura is being developed around three foundational principles.
- Patient-centred by designPatients remain at the centre of their care journey. Their autonomy, privacy, participation and control over personal information are fundamental to the platform.
- Connected across the care journeyMental healthcare does not begin and end with an appointment. We aim to support continuity, therapeutic engagement, longitudinal understanding and appropriate collaboration across professionals and settings.
- Focused on meaningful outcomesTechnology should serve a clear purpose. Our objective is to enable better-informed care, support patient engagement and develop the evidence needed to understand whether our approach contributes to improved outcomes.
Three products, one platform
Useful alone. Better connected.
Synapse Cura is three products, each designed to deliver value on its own.
For individuals, a personal environment for documenting and understanding their mental health journey: history, check-ins, reflections, medication experiences and life context, over time.
For therapists, a professional workspace for therapeutic practice: practices assigned between sessions, how they went, preparation for the next session and change over time.
For doctors, a clinical workspace: longitudinal history, diagnoses, medication, reported reactions and follow-up.
A person can start alone. A therapist can adopt the workspace for their practice. A doctor can adopt the clinical workspace. None depends on the others being present.
When patients and professionals choose to connect, Synapse Cura supports consented sharing, therapeutic engagement and collaboration. Independent utility, enhanced by connected care — that dual model is fundamental to the platform.
Beyond individual care
Connecting care, knowledge and progress.
We believe the opportunity extends beyond improving individual interactions between patients and professionals.
With appropriate safeguards, connected mental healthcare can create opportunities for better care coordination, more informed service delivery and responsible clinical research.
Healthcare institutions may gain new ways to support continuity and patient engagement.
Employers and employee assistance providers may help make ongoing mental healthcare support more accessible.
Researchers and life sciences organisations may be able to explore ethically governed collaborations that contribute to understanding treatment experiences and outcomes.
These opportunities must be built on trust, appropriate consent, privacy and clear separation between clinical care and secondary uses of information.
The purpose remains unchanged: improving mental healthcare for the people receiving it.
Our commitment
Progress built on trust.
Mental healthcare involves some of the most personal and sensitive information people share.
We believe trust cannot be an afterthought.
Synapse Cura is being designed with patient autonomy, responsible information governance, privacy, security and clinical accountability as foundational requirements.
As we develop the platform, we intend to work with patients, healthcare professionals and institutional partners to evaluate its usefulness, strengthen its safeguards and establish evidence of its impact.
We recognise that improving patient outcomes is an ambition that must be demonstrated through responsible development and evaluation, not simply promised.
Synapse Cura is in development. Its clinical benefits, regulatory requirements and institutional models will require appropriate validation as the platform matures.
Our foundation
Built on trust. Designed with privacy at its core.
Mental healthcare depends on trust.
We recognise that the information people share about their mental health is deeply personal and deserves exceptional care.
Synapse Cura was conceived by a founder with a professional background in cybersecurity, governance and complex systems, bringing information protection, accountability and responsible system design into the company's foundations.
Our commitment is to develop a platform where privacy, confidentiality and security are considered throughout the product lifecycle, from architecture and development to access management, institutional collaboration and future research.
We believe patients should be able to participate in connected mental healthcare without sacrificing control over their personal information.
That principle guides how we intend to build Synapse Cura.
Looking ahead
Building the future of mental healthcare, together.
We are at the beginning of a longer journey.
Our ambition is not merely to digitise existing practices, but to help shape a more connected and effective model of mental healthcare.
One in which information supports understanding, collaboration supports better decisions, and technology helps patients and professionals make meaningful progress.
One in which the boundaries between appointments, providers and institutions no longer define the limits of continuity.
And one in which better patient outcomes remain the measure of success.
Synapse Cura.
Mental healthcare, reconnected.
