Extend understanding beyond the appointment.
Synapse Cura connects a client with everyone who cares for them — therapist, doctor, somatic work and more — around one record the client controls, which follows them from clinician to clinician.
The problem
- Retelling re-traumatises. Someone with PTSD who changes therapist, doctor or approach has to recount the worst of it again — to every new person.
- Therapy can't see pharmacology. A therapist rarely knows how a new SSRI or a taper is shifting the client's baseline, so biological agitation gets read as resistance.
- Knowledge dies in the room. What helped, what didn't, what was ruled out — it stays in someone's notes when care changes hands.
What Synapse Cura does
A record that follows the client. The client and their team write one shared record: the background in brief, what's been tried, what helps, what to avoid. In-depth parts are seen only by clinicians the client chooses. Diagnoses are kept as a history in ICD-11 (with ICD-10), including what was ruled out. When a clinician leaves, they write a handover for the next. Entries are permanent, and the client can add their side next to any of them.
A clinicians' room. The team coordinates behind the scenes so care fits together — with the client's consent, and the client can always see that the room is being used.
Between sessions. A briefing covering everything since the last session, short evidence-labelled practices, medication and reactions when the client shares them, and a reminder the day before each appointment.
How it works for you
- Apply. Your profession, licence number, country and professional register. We check your entry by hand and record what we checked.
- Join your client's team. The client sends you a link, or you create a careLink and send them an invite. If they have a lead clinician or a guardian, they agree first.
- Start from the record. Before the first session, read the client's own words, earlier handovers and diagnoses — then ask what matters to them, not for the whole story again.
- Work as a team. Doctors see the medication log by default; therapists give practices between sessions. Everyone coordinates in the clinicians' room, and decisions go in the record, where the client sees them.
- Hand over when you leave. A short handover, so whoever comes next starts from the record, not from zero.
Less stigma, by design
A new clinician meets the person through their story — what helps and what to avoid — not through a code on a referral letter. Diagnoses are shown as working descriptions that can change. The client sees everything recorded about them, in plain language, and can answer back.
What it isn't
Synapse Cura is a communication and coordination tool. It does not diagnose, interpret data or recommend treatment — clinicians do. It doesn't replace a clinician's own record-keeping obligations, and it isn't a crisis service: in danger, call 112.
Plans
- Clients — free, forever. No ads, no paid features.
- Independent clinicians — free during the pilot.
- Clinics and group practices — per-clinician subscription with shared administration. Get in touch to pilot with your team.
- Employers — connected care as an employee benefit, through HIBS.
Built on the evidence
Stepped care, trauma-informed principles, measurement-based care with standard questionnaires, Stanley–Brown safety planning and ICD-11 coded records. How we apply each framework — and what still needs independent clinical sign-off — is on the standards page.
Privacy & security
Who sees what, how notes are protected, and what isn’t in place yet — set out plainly on the privacy & security page.
