For GPs, specialists and other doctors

More context for more informed care.

Access relevant longitudinal treatment information, patient-reported experiences and shared care context, subject to appropriate authorisation.

Why this exists

Medical appointments are short and often weeks or months apart. What happened in between — a side effect, a difficult period, progress in therapy — is often lost, or reported from memory.

Synapse Cura exists so that decisions about diagnosis and medication can draw on longitudinal context, while every professional stays responsible for their own work.

It is a clinical workspace in its own right — history, diagnoses, medication, reported reactions, follow-up — whether or not a therapist is involved.

What it addresses

The problems as they happen today, and what Synapse Cura does about each one. Where the answer is not built yet, it says so.

A patient's fifteen medication trials are reconstructed from memory, theirs or yours.

Each medication carries who recorded it and its version history; what the patient noticed after a dose is kept in their words with the time, and your assessment, with a WHO-UMC causality category as your own judgement, sits next to it. You work from a dated record rather than a recollection on the day, and an unusual response is something to assess, not something to take on trust. Not built yet: a structured prescriber note on response, reason stopped and advice for next time.

In clinical review
A diagnosis given in a crisis is carried forward as if it were settled.

Every diagnosis records its basis, since when the picture was observed, over how many contacts and in what circumstances. Confirming one needs a stated basis and a doctor or clinical psychologist; a provisional picture shows how long it has been open.

Ready for the pilot
You never see what happens in therapy, or between appointments.

Therapist entries, assigned practices and the patient's own observations reach you when the patient shares them, and the session summary gathers everything since your last appointment with each line linked to its source.

In clinical review
A reaction between appointments arrives by phone, or not at all.

You set how patients may contact you and what reply to expect. A reaction report has a route, your review and a follow-up the patient sees, so neither of you depends on a call being answered.

In clinical review
A second opinion means weeks, or a colleague's goodwill.

Referrals go through the patient's approval and can be followed to the first appointment. Time-limited, read-only consultation for a second opinion is planned, not available.

Planned
You refer a patient and never learn whether they were seen.

A referral goes through the patient's approval and can be followed to the first appointment. An outcome coming back to close the loop is planned, not available.

Planned
After discharge, the outpatient doctor starts from a letter, if it arrives.

The patient's history stays with them across the transition, with past events dated when they happened. Exchange with hospital and national health-data systems is a direction, not yet available.

What it offers

  • Diagnoses with provenance

    Ready for the pilot

Record ICD-11 classifications under your name; a change is a new entry, never an overwrite. Your patient sees them in plain language and can add their own context.

  • Medication history and patient reports

    Ready for the pilot

The regimen and its history, and what your patient logged after taking a dose — in their own words, with timing.

  • Reviewing what patients report

    In clinical review

Record your assessment of a report, an optional WHO-UMC causality category as your own judgement, and a follow-up your patient sees. Synapse Cura never labels a report an adverse reaction and doesn't submit regulatory reports.

  • Session summary in one click

    In clinical review

Everything your patient shares with you since your last appointment, each line linked to its source.

  • The therapeutic context

    Ready for the pilot

Therapist entries, between-session practices and progress your patient shares with you, alongside your own record.

  • Referrals and handovers

    Ready for the pilot

Suggest a colleague with your patient's approval and follow it through; structured handovers whenever anyone leaves the care team.

  • Time-limited consultations

    Planned

Read-only access for a second opinion that ends automatically.

  • Verified prescriptions and data exchange

    Planned

Prescriptions distinguished from patient-reported medication, standard medication terminology, and exchange with national and EU health-data systems.

Ready for the pilot: built and tested, in use once the pilot starts. In clinical review: built, and relied on only after our clinical adviser signs it off. Planned: direction, not yet available. What isn't done yet.

What stays yours

Clinical judgement, prescribing and your own medical record system. Synapse Cura is not a prescribing system, doesn't diagnose or advise treatment, and isn't real-time monitoring.

Free for independent clinicians during the pilot.

Why it matters for patient outcomes

More informed decisions, with the weeks between appointments in view.
